This dataset contains portable laser scanning data collected in April 2024 in a managed Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) stand in northeastern Germany within the forest living lab of the ADAPT-Wald-Holz project. The data were collected to evaluate how scan trajectory geometry, transect spacing, and plot size influence stem-focused forest inventory outputs. Twenty-seven feasible scan configurations were acquired across five geometric patterns (rectangle, spiral, parallel, grid, zigzag), several transect spacings (12.5-75 m), and three square plot sizes (625, 2500, and 5625 m²). Scans were acquired with a GreenValley LiGrip H300 personal laser scanner under comparable weather and operator conditions.
